PRESS RELEASE: Canmore Hospital Foundation Announces Completion of $440,000 Campaign for New Life-Saving Endoscopy Equipment

Healthcare in Canmore has taken a major step forward. The Canmore Hospital Foundation (CHF) is thrilled to announce that we have officially completed our $440,000 fundraising campaign to bring enhanced endoscopy equipment to Canmore General Hospital. This milestone is a powerful testament to our community's strength, made possible by the generosity of donors, the support of local businesses, and the dedication of our staff and board members who came together to achieve this success.

“The success of our fundraising campaign for new endoscopy equipment is thanks to the incredible support of local businesses and individuals,” said Kristen Pauch-Nolin, CHF Executive Director. “It began in November with two generous contributions, including one from the Canmore Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, and was completed in early February with a significant grant from The Bremner Family Foundation. We are profoundly grateful for these gifts and for every person and organization that believed in this important project.”

This achievement is more than just reaching a goal, it’s about the meaningful impact this new equipment will have on patients' lives. Endoscopy procedures are essential for diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, including gastrointestinal diseases and cancers. With this state-of-the-art equipment, Canmore General Hospital will be able to perform over 2,000 endoscopies per year, a significant increase from the 1,300 procedures currently performed. That means shorter waiting times, earlier detection of serious conditions, and better outcomes for patients who will now receive advanced diagnostic care close to home.

“With newer equipment, we will not only improve the quality of care but also enhance patient comfort and safety. The clarity of imaging and flexibility of the new scopes allow for more thorough and effective procedures, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes.” Dr. Matt Muirhead, General Surgeon at Canmore General Hospital

The CHF extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed. With this campaign successfully completed, the CHF remains dedicated to advancing healthcare in the Bow Valley. The work doesn’t stop here—it's the ongoing generosity of our community that ensures Canmore General Hospital continues to have the best tools and technology to serve its patients.
