The Canmore Hospital Foundation (CHF) golf tournament is held annually at Silvertip Golf Course in support of the Canmore General Hospital. This year marks the 20th year of our charity tournament and proceeds will be used for our community’s most critical cause yet – revitalizing the hospital’s emergency department.
Canmore General Hospital was built in the 1984 and key areas of the facility, including the two surgical suites, remain unchanged. Thirty-nine years ago, the Bow Valley was a much smaller community, and the delivery of health care was much different.
In summer/fall 2023 two new surgeons were hired to support Canmore General Hospital’s surgical program. Dr. Matt Muirhead has already joined the surgical team and will be joined by his colleague in the new year.
Dr Muirhead and the surgical staff have identified the current surgical equipment needs:
Cameras (4K), telescope and monitor: $56,800
Bipolar resectoscopes: $23,600
Hasson cannula and trocars: $6,250
Omni hysteroscopes: $9,800.00
The combined cost of this equipment is approximately $100,000.00
